The first meeting monthly between members Global Youth Coalition on HIV / AIDS (GYCA- Ivory Coast).
20th April 2009 took place the first meeting monthly summoned by SORO Gaël National Focal Point (Ivory Coast) and the members Global Youth Coalition on HIV / AIDS (GYCA- Ivory Coast).
It is in the premises of the Ministry of the fight against the HIV / AIDS (Direction loaded with the Private sector and the Civil society) which took place the meeting for one hour of which
was present Mister SORO Gaël (National Focal Point), ELLO Frederic (bilingual interpreter in the Direction loaded with the Private sector and the Civil society), Aboudramane YOUNOUSS (jurist and charged of NGO(NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION) in the Direction loaded with the Private sector and the Civil society), Yvette NTAMO (Trainee to the Network Native of the Ivory Coast of the alive Persons with the HIV / AIDS).
Well before to begin, we received a phone call on behalf of APPIAH Elodie (Past National Focal Point on 2008) to apologize for it of his caused absentee.
My friends expressed me them pleasant gratitude to have made the movement up to here.
SORO Gaël National Focal Point reviewed all the activities in which I have part namely:
- Presentation of the work plan
- The deposit of the mails in the offices of Madam Minister, Madam Coordinator Country of the UNAIDS and to the Coordinator country of the UNFPA;
- Phone calls made for appointment setting;
- The mission of prospecting in the North of the country;
- My absentee caused for the first meeting of the regional chat;
-The meeting with Mister MAGAZI
The meeting was chaired by SORO Gaël National Focal Point and the committee secretary ELLO Frederic.
The agenda of the meeting:
- Commitments of all the GYCAers
- Amendments and proposition of the work plan
- Appointment of the Regional Coordinators
- AOD
ELLO announced me its gratitude to support me in the actions of the GYCA, by informing the assembly of the inconveniences met with ex Focal National which had a deficit of executions of its work plan.
YOUNOUSS notified that they will support me in the achievement of the visions and the missions of the GYCA in Ivory Coast and that they will observe me for period to estimate my commitments.
To obtain the membership, the involvement and benefit from their humility, I made a brief history of my experiences of voluntary works and voluntary services with certain local or international structures and as they could trust me for a bigger and more visible GYCA in our country.
I wished that my work plan is seen again in amendment and approval to make it more relevant and more practicable in time.
ELLO will send me a copy of the work plan of the last year so that I can read it and also he preferred that each brings his personal expertise so that we can the adopted for the next session meet.
Let us note that the work plan proposed by SORO Gaël will be amended and adopted.
As proposition, if a member of the GYCA had a friend in one of the regions suggested informing me about it for the appointment of this person at the post of regional coordinator.
Yvette NOT TAMO who joined us, would wish that the GYCA is more specific and practical where from requires her will be to create a pole of management of all the information relative to the youth and the HIV / AIDS in Ivory Coast to manage by his Regional Coordinators in their respective regions.
ELLO suggests for the appointment of the Regional Coordinators appealing to application with the support of the National Federation of the Boy scouts of Ivory Coast there of whom it is one of theirs.
Yvette suggests that is delivered to them an exercise book of responsibility so that they can mobilize resources with NGO (NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION) and their elected representatives in their regions.
For the appointment of the Regional Coordinators, we obtained the involvement of all.
In conformance with the information, SORO Gaël asked some and the others to multiply the efforts for a bigger GYCA and so besides, somebody inclined a contact for the benefit of the progress of the GYCA to put back him to her for appointment setting.
In the day’s futures, I shall allow to meet the various people in charge of movements of young people:
- National network of the Young people of Ivory Coast
- Native of the Ivory Coast network of the Young people against the HIV / AIDS
- Student movement of Sensitization to HIV / AIDS
-Youth Employment System (YES- Ivory Coast)
Yvette notified that following these various meetings, is organized a seminary of reflection around a theme.
I was anxious to thank all the present members and those who were not able to make the movement for the interest which they bring to the arrangement of the GYCA in our country.
