Keep the Promise: join the campaign!

Dear Fellows ,As next year is the year for the universal access to treatment ( goal 2010) as well as the this year is the 20The anniversary since the inception of the world's most widely ratified human rights document, the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child( UNCRC). The "Keep the Promise" campaign holds individuals, governments, intergovernmental organizations, religious leaders and faith organizations accountable for the commitments they have made and advocates for further efforts and resources to fight HIV and AIDS. There are direct ways you can get involved at local, national, and international levels. Here are a few ideas: Hold a poster competition to encourage discussion and raise awareness about HIV and AIDS. Consider how your community or church can address issues of sex and sexuality in an open and honest way, that helps young people make informed choices. Within the framework of a conference West African organized by the AIESEC-Ivory Coast in Abidjan, SORO Gaël National Focal Point ( Ivory Coast) accommodated his friend and colleague Christophe AMEDIN, National Focal Point (Togo) and three of his fellow countrymen in my family place of residence. Christophe AMEDIN contacted me too approximately of 21 hours (9 pm) that they were on the university campus immediately, I went on the scene. Once arrived at the house, they took a shower and followed by one to dine. After Christophe AMEDIN and me, us apologized to her friends for a possible interview. I thanked at first Christophe AMEDIN for pleasant sound membership in the GYCA and all my congratulations for his appointment as National Focal Point (TOGO) and that henceforth it was door torch of the GYCA with her peers in its country thus he should bring it more interest. The first meeting monthly between members Global Youth Coalition on HIV / AIDS (GYCA- Ivory Coast).

20th April 2009 took place the first meeting monthly summoned by SORO Gaël National Focal Point (Ivory Coast) and the members Global Youth Coalition on HIV / AIDS (GYCA- Ivory Coast). It is in the premises of the Ministry of the fight against the HIV / AIDS (Direction loaded with the Private sector and the Civil society) which took place the meeting for one hour of which was present Mister SORO Gaël (National Focal Point), ELLO Frederic (bilingual interpreter in the Direction loaded with the Private sector and the Civil society), Aboudramane YOUNOUSS (jurist and charged of NGO(NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION) in the Direction loaded with the Private sector and the Civil society), Yvette NTAMO (Trainee to the Network Native of the Ivory Coast of the alive Persons with the HIV / AIDS). Network of the Associations of Fight against the HIV / AIDS of Korhogo (RALKO)

Invited by Mister DOUMBIA ISSIAKA, Director of the Voluntary Screening unit participated in this meeting as observer. This meeting was held on 4 Th April 2009 in the office of the Network of the Associations of Fight against the HIV / AIDS of Korhogo (RALKO) situated in the district 14. The meeting was chaired by Mister FADIGA president of the Network of the Associations of Fight against the HIV / AIDS of Korhogo (RALKO) and, as participants, the members of the RALKO, the delegation of the World Bottom (Mister MAGAZI Ibrahim), the Regional Representative of the Ministry of fight against the HIV / AIDS, Mister KONAN of INTERNATIONAL CARE and SORO Gaël National Focal Point du GYCA in Ivory Coast. In gathering of opinions/financing, every person appeared as well as its structure of origin. First mission of prospecting made by SORO Gaël , National Focal Point (Ivory Coast ) from 2 till 6 April 2009 in the region of Savannas exactly to Korhogo whose first objective was to meet the structures and the networks or the coalitions occurring in the domain with HIV / AIDS during the crisis and it post crisis in this city. And my first personal contact from my arrival concerned to the person of Mister DOUMBIA ISSIAKA, Director of a Voluntary Screening unit which was kind enough to answer my concerns. I notify that his center is situated in the administrative district; in front of the city hall of said city and neighbour of the prefecture. During 45 minutes, Mister DOUMBIA ISSIAKA shared their experiences and their methods of prevention of the HIV / AIDS in this city the rate of prevalence of which with HIV / AIDS is alarming. News of VCT Event in Ivory Coast

The national day of voluntary screening for HIV/AIDS began on Wednesday the 17th, and runs until the 20th June. All youth organizations and networks are determined to educate their friends and communities.Members of GYCA are also present with me in the most populated district of Abidjan. At the end of this week you will have the information on the numbers of participants.I want to remind my colleagues in Cameroon that I have a problem of recognition by the offices of UNAIDS and UNFPA in my country. Therefore I work with networks of young people of my country and other NGOs to organize a national conference of young people in my country.
